Actually, one of our favorite games of all time. Imagine our delight when our pals at Sony called up and said they were considering releasing the sequel over here. We were stoked! Presumably, Baron Aloha, the twisted fiend from the first game, is in some kind of trouble. Now this is where we get confused. The Baron is supposed to be a bad guy. OK, so some of the plot details are sketchy at the moment, but the classic gameplay is intact. Jumping Flash 2 looks like being just as enjoyable, and a whole lot bigger than its predecessor.

If you have played the first game, then you’ll know what to expect, but for Jumping Flash virgins, here’s a little run-down of the physics.

Your robot-rabbit can perform a three-stage jump. The higher he goes, the further he can “drift. Although the new game is a little way from completion, there are a lot of new treats to spark your interest. The graphics have been cleaned up and generally improved.

The always smooth scrolling is now even smoother and the impossibly colorful graphics are impossibly more colorful. The music is even wackier than before and the gameplay thankfully remains intact. Sure, you can just hop around on the ground, too on some underground corridor levels you’re forced to , but you’ll normally need to jump if you want to grab jetpods and goodies.

The feeling of jumping flight comes across here amazingly. Everything is perfect; from the trajectory angles of the jumps to the gradually increasing speed at which you fall from great heights, to the way that everything in the air including your rabbit casts a shadow on the ground. When I’ve dreamed of being able to fly, it usually feels a lot like the effect I get playing this game.

Jumping Flash is unique, wholly innovative and destined to become a classic. It’s perfect, in fact. PlayStation owners: Buy this game. And pick up some carrots while you’re out–you’ll be craving them after the first level. What’s up, doc? You’re up -way up – in a huge mechanical rabbit.
