When I bought Audirvana years ago, I was told that the one-time price would be it. I paid for it thinking that I would get unlimited updates. Then they came up with their bogus subscription service and virtually abandoned the people who bought what they thought was all they would have to pay from then on. Audirvana may be a great platform, but their approach sucked from the time they decided needed to make more money off the backs of people who originally bought their product thinking that would be all they would be paying.
